Sad News
Last December we were informed of the sad news that one of our regular guests Peter Ward, passed away suddenly. Peter was a regular at Careysville for many years and came twice each season with his friends to fish. He was a very enthusiastic fly fisherman, rarely killed a fish and always had a positive attitude to fishing, no matter what the conditions. He will be deeply missed by many. In his memory, Careysville has decided to plant an Oak tree over looking the "Ripples" and "Lane Stream", where he landed his last Careysville salmon in 2011. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
New "Rods Available" feature on Careysville web site is now Live! Our "River Report" will start end of January and we will be including a brand new feature, showing what rods are available and when, during the season. Just click the link "Rods Available". It's only available to guests who register for the "River Report" page. Contact me for details on how to register. Please note that our "River Report" page is for guests who have or intend to book fishing this season. Registered fishermen who do not make a booking within a period of time, regretfully their account is automatically removed.

On the 24th November, the order for the removal of Clondulane Weir was confirmed following a lengthy legal challenge by the Lismore Castle Estate. The reason given for the removal of the weir is to allow the free and uninterrupted passage of migratory fish as required by national and European legislation. Therefore the weir maybe removed by the Minister of State and could occur on or after 1st June 2012, subject to any planning application, statutory assessment or applicable laws associated with such work. We will provide further information as it is available.
